YOU CAN NOW REGISTER FOR OUR NEW REPEAT ORDERING SYSTEM AND BOOKING APPOINTMENTS ONLINE - PLEASE REGISTER AT THE SURGERY BY BRINGING PHOTO IDENTIFICATION
Our appointment system allows patients to see the doctor of their choice by being able to pre-book appointments in advance. Please be aware that you may have to wait for an appointment to see the Doctor of your choice, if this is not acceptable we will offer you an appointment with another Doctor. We can offer you a telephone consultation with the Doctor of your choice if you think that will be of benefit, just let our Reception know.
Please do not ring the surgery at 8am to see a specific doctor for a routine appointment as this may not always be possible.
Please ring the Surgery to arrange an appointment with a nurse.
If the problem is more urgent then a dedicated Duty Doctor is available every day who can either telephone you if you think it can be dealt with over the phone or you can request an appointment if that is more appropriate. Depending on how busy the surgery is initially you may be offered a telephone consultation.
If you have an ongoing problem that has flared up we will endeavour to give you an appointment with the Doctor who has previously seen you or arrange a telephone consultation.
We are a Training Practice which means we will usually have a GP Registrar working with us. GP Registrar’s are fully qualified doctors undertaking an extended work period in General Practice. We also have medical students and these are overseen by one of our own Doctors.
If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
We offer telephone consultations before surgery and during the morning. Please ring and speak to reception to book this. The Duty Doctor will be responsible for taking urgent calls only throughout the day.
